CreativeNet

CreativeNet is Reaching Jaywick’s creative initiative – a network of creativity linking people of all ages across the community.

CreativeNet meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the Jaywick Martello Tower, with sessions led by CoastNet’s own practising artist, Bryony Graham.  Since launching in January 2010 CreativeNet has snowballed – individual and group projects develop both in (and out) of the session – all supported by professional creative people and artists including local artist and key creative  volunteer Coralina Cattrell.

No idea is too big or too small!  From simple drawing, photography, painting, film making, ceramics sculpture, writing, printing, sound, story telling, carnival float design, metal and woodwork: the list is endless.

A junior creative session, ‘The C-Net’, runs as an afterschool club at Frobisher Primary School offering pupils the chance to explore and discover their artistic side and gain arts award qualifications and AQA award qualifications.  Excitingly, the C-Net afterschool was selected for the national pilot scheme of the Junior Arts Awards; in October 2011, 26 young people gained ‘Discover’ and ‘Explore’ awards under the scheme.  C-Net Creative and Sports camps are held in the summer holidays and both clubs and camps are validated learning destinations for the Children’s Univerity, encouraging and fostering out of school learning and development.

Workshops and classes can be designed for specific age groups and their particular needs and encompass all sorts of creative activities.  If you would like to find out more about the CreativeNet and maybe get involved as a participant or volunteer, please email reaching.jaywick@coastnet.org.uk or call Bryony Graham on 07506 153479
