CoastNet were thrilled to present the ‘Lay of the Land’ exhibition kindly hosted by the ‘Discovering Communities’ student team at Clacton Coastal Academy Skills Centre last week.

‘Lay of the Land’ featured ideas, images and innovations from Kingston University, post-graduate Landscape Architecture students for positive environmental improvements in Jaywick. We look forward to taking forward some of their fantastic ideas in the near future.

Christmas Tea Dance Festivities

Huge thank you to everyone that supported the Christmas Tea Dance at St Christopher’s Church yesterday – over 60 people attended and we were excited to welcome 25 people from Corner Lodge home in Jaywick for an afternoon of music, dancing and entertainment!

A special thank you goes to Santa Claus for bringing joy and presents for all, Mike and Steve for being such super DJs and Alex and Tracey for live music!

We look forward to seeing you all at the Valentine Tea Dance in 2012.

The next Jaywick Bright Futures workshop is taking place on:

12.30pm – 3.30pm

Jaywick Community Resource Centre, Main Hall

Come and join us for lunch from 12.30pm and sign up to community action in the New Year!

Local artist Coralina Cattrell will be helping create flower planters as inspiration for Christmas gifts!

Everybody welcome!

CoastNet have made a commitment within the Reaching Jaywick project to develop a community-inspired action plan for Jaywick.

The community action plan will serve as a comprehensive resource for local people, identifying simple tasks, with step-by-step guidance, that can be achieved without assistance from authorities or other organisations. The plan will be a living resource with regular updates and new actions being added over the next three years.

15th December 2011: Jaywick Christmas Tea Dance
